Our commitment to Bebat compliance
At Zendure, our mission goes beyond delivering the latest technology for Energy Storage Systems. We are committed to a sustainable lifestyle that protects our environment for future generations.
As part of this promise, and to fully comply with Belgian environmental legislation, we have adjusted our prices to include the Bebat Environmental Contribution. We understand that price changes can raise questions, which is why we want to offer full transparency on this matter.
What is the "Bebat Environmental Contribution" and why do I have to pay it?
The Environmental Contribution is a specific government-imposed levy for environmental purposes. By law, all battery-containing products sold in Belgium must participate in the collection system organized by Bebat.
We invite you to see the Environmental Contribution as a prepaid service for a worry-free future.
When your home battery reaches the end of its life many years from now, you won't have to pay any hidden costs or complicated disposal fees. You will have already taken your responsibility. This contribution ensures that your battery is professionally collected, processed, and recycled, without polluting our soil or water.
Why choosing a compliant product protects you
You may notice that some products on the market do not list these costs. While they may seem cheaper at first glance, they carry hidden risks.
The Environmental Contribution is proof of legitimacy. It confirms that Zendure's products comply with Belgium's strict safety and market access standards. By choosing a compliant product, you choose safety, legality, and peace of mind, avoiding the potential legal risks associated with unregulated electronics.
100% Transparency: How do we calculate the cost and where does the money go?
We believe you have the right to know exactly how this amount is determined and where your money goes.
The amount is not arbitrarily set by Zendure, but is strictly based on Bebat's official rates. The calculation is based on the specific weight and chemical composition of the battery products you purchase.
According to BEBAT's official rules: As of January 1, 2025, the environmental contribution for home batteries (Energy Storage Systems or ESS) weighing ≤200 kg is €2.89/kg (excl. VAT).
At be.zendure.com, we charge the Bebat costs based on the total battery weight in the package you purchased. The formula is: Bebat = Battery Weight × €2.89/kg × 1.21 (VAT)
Examples:

On the page, you will see a comparison of the price including and excluding BEBAT costs.

We solemnly declare: Zendure makes no profit from this contribution. If the official Bebat rate for a specific battery is €70, that is exactly the amount added to the final price – without any markup or administrative fees. We only collect this exact amount and transfer 100% of it to the Bebat organization to finance environmental operations.
While the initial cost is slightly higher, it is only a small part of your total investment. Compared to the hundreds of euros you save annually on your electricity bill with a Zendure Home Energy System, this one-time environmental contribution is negligible over a period of more than ten years of energy savings.
How can I verify Zendure's Bebat information?
We always adhere to the principle of integrity. Should you have any questions when looking for our data in the official Bebat database, we are happy to provide clarification here.
Zendure Belgium is an officially registered member of Bebat. You can click here and search by company name "Zendure" or by our VAT number: DE359333089.
For full compliance and traceability, we have registered the unique serial number (S/N) of every battery sold via be.zendure.com with Bebat. This means that every cent you pay to Bebat is correctly processed and linked to the specific product you purchased.
Here is the reference list and the corresponding contribution!
Note on Zendure AB2000X and AB3000X not yet on the list: Zendure has officially submitted the declaration to BEBAT. However, due to the time required for administrative processing, there is often a delay before the public database reflects new registrations. If you temporarily cannot find "Zendure AB2000X" or "AB3000X" in the public list, there is no need to worry. This is a normal part of the process. We have submitted all necessary documents and fully comply with the regulations.
Closing the loop: The recycling process
Thanks to your contribution, the recycling process is very simple. When the time comes, you can return your used battery to one of the more than 24,000 Bebat collection points throughout Belgium.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: Why don't some other brands charge these fees?
A1: Complying with Belgian law is an obligation for responsible companies. If a product does not include the Bebat environmental contribution, it may not be officially registered or may not comply with local safety regulations. We always prioritize your safety and legal compliance and do not compromise on this.
Q2: Does Zendure keep any part of this fee itself?
A2: Absolutely not. All costs are calculated based on official rates and transferred in full to Bebat to finance the collection and recycling network.
Q3: Why doesn't Zendure charge BEBAT costs in other countries?
A3: This is due to local differences in regulations and benefits. Buying through a channel that does not pay Bebat may mean you are not entitled to the full warranty and after-sales service you deserve in Belgium. By choosing Zendure's official Belgian channel, you get a legally compliant product, enjoy full local rights, and support environmentally friendly recycling.
Q4: I cannot currently find the Zendure AB3000X on the BEBAT website. Is my product covered?
A4: Yes. As mentioned above, there is some time between our submission and the database update. Your product is fully covered by our official declaration and warranty.
Q5: Does this affect my warranty?
A5: No. On the contrary, purchasing a compliant product ensures that you are fully protected under Belgian consumer law and Zendure's official warranty policy.
